I counted that there are characters total to type if you use all the shorthands uk, usa, prc, dprk, rok, roc, fyrom, fsm, png, nz, congo, car, ksa, czechia, etc.
At my record pace that is words per minute. I have typed as fast as wpm on monkeytype and regularly reach wpm. If I could sustain even a modest wpm I could bring my record down to 2 minutes and 6 seconds. That is about the pace the current world record holder was at, but he is a far faster typist than me, having reached wpm on 10ff. He also said he had a 1m54s run off camera which is a wpm pace. Just goes to show that it's harder to reach one's peak wpm typing these country names.
And memorization isn't even an issue for me since I type the countries in the same order every time, it's basically muscle memory at this point. I missed a bunch because I didn't have enough time. We will still call it Afghanistan. However, the official name has changed to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, and the official flag has changed as well. Use it or lose it. I'm curious as to what the average is for finishing this, if anyone knows or if there is any way to find out?
This is not the UN member states. There are also 11 "Countries" which are Non-members, including Taiwan and Kosovo, but also some others most people would definitely not get, like Artsakh.
Should Jetpunk include these? Should Jetpunk omit these? This is not about which countries YOU think deserve to be here, even if you have a strong case for it. This is also not a quiz about what countries ARE countries, because depending on who you ask, that could be as many as There's a few typing graces with difficult to spell countries too such as the Stans, as long as you're on the right lines they're often accepted.
Hope you will enjoy it! I need to improve my score haha my fastest is 7. Also just type PNG. Country Names with Double Letters. Spot the Imposter — Countries of the World. I remember starting this when I was 11 knowing few countries until I worked my way up to , then eventually with a little help from google I could get it to I am so happy, my life is complete.
Nice job! Then I'd know them. Get your act together, Solomon Islands! Some kind of order instead of what pops up into your mind also helps. Before i learnt about these abbreviations i only knew the obvious ones like UAE, USA, UK and that you dont need to write spaces and before i came up with order of naming the countries, my best time was at 8 minutes. Now its ! But yes, this is a great list of the abbreviations you can use! It is still considered Ukranian by the UN. As Russia has control over Crimea, it is given to Russia.
The inclusion of Vatican City, Taiwan, and Kosovo is one example of defacto situation being favored over UN recognition. What's going on with these quiz makers??? This is such an obvious mistake!!!
Taiwan should definitely be removed from the list of countries especially if Palestine, which is recognized by countries, is not on the list.
This is based on which countries have de facto control, so even though Taiwan is only recognized by a few countries, it still countrols the island of Taiwan, while Palestine doesn't have control over its territory. In addition, Taiwan maintains unofficial relations with many other countries, the most prominent of which is with the United States.
The US, Japan, and other allies have expressed the possibility that they will protect Taiwan's sovereignty if China attempted to invade, which is much more than what is offered to either Somaliland and Transnistria. Taiwan also has a huge economy and military for its size, and has remained democratic and separated from mainland China for the last 72 years, retaining the historical Chinese culture that Mao Zedong purged in his Cultural Revolution.
New record for me! Not fully sovereign. GG awesome quiz! Go everyone! I just got down to ! So proud of myself! Silly me, how embarrassing.
