Zach Ertz gains 28 on a wide open pass that he actually dropped. Sanders runs for 6 and on 3rd and 4, Fabian Moreau bats away the pass intended for Devonta Smith. Eagles go for it on 4th down and Grady Jarrett forces Hurts to throw it away. Turnover on downs. The Falcons start with a hold by Kaleb McGary on a run to setup 1st and Davis takes the pass for 8 and enchroachment by Fletcher Cox sets up 2nd and 6.

Pattersons run sets up 3rd and 3 but a false start on Jalen Mayfield makes it 3rd and 8. Patterson then runs for 10 and the first. A short run and a quick pocket collapse that ends in intentional grounding sets up 3rd and 20 and the pass to Hurst sets up the punt. Atlanta ran tempo to move into field goal range. Javon Hargrave got a hit on Matt Ryan but the quarterback completed a pass to Calvin Ridley for a first down in the red zone. Then the Eagles got called for 12 men on the field, which likely had to do with all the substituting they were doing.

The Eagles ran the same play to the right side of the field for another first. Hurts took off running on an RPO keep for yet another first. That Alabama connection just might turn out to be pretty fruitful. Encouraging start by the offense! Nice job by Nick Sirianni. The Falcons pounded the rock with ease to move into Eagles territory. Too many big lanes, too much sloppy tackling.

The Falcons got to a 4th-and-1 and converted with a Kyle Pitts reception right on the marker. The Falcons ultimately had to settle for another red zone field goal.

Zach Ertz got wiiiide open on a wheel route and Hurts hit him but on a very underthrown ball. The Eagles got to 4th-and-4 and Hurts got pressured by Grady Jarrett into an incompletion after he broke the pocket too early. Derek Barnett pressured Ryan into an intentional grounding penalty, which ultimately caused the Falcons to punt.

Hurts completed four straight passes to Smith. The Eagles should feed the rookie all year long. When your two top receivers and a tight end go down, it's difficult, because now you're going to be having to put guys into positions, and they haven't gotten those reps during the week.

Doug Pederson was frank about Philly's dire injury situation after the game when addressing local media. And, really, the Eagles' injury situation moving forward is about as important as the Falcons getting a much-needed "W.
